Our first public launch
SellitLocal provides a Norfolk classifieds directory, listing tools and AI price conversations. Online checkout, seller payouts, phone listing and courier booking are not available at launch. We do not currently collect purchase payments, hold funds or book deliveries. Listing and browsing are free at this launch. We will explain any future charges before you incur them.
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into an agreement to create an account or list items. Use your own sign-in account and keep it secure. Businesses must identify themselves accurately and only let authorised staff act on their behalf.
List things honestly
Only list an item you own or are authorised to sell. Your location must fall within our Norfolk service area. Describe the item, price, condition and defects accurately; use images you have permission to publish. Do not list stolen or counterfeit items, weapons, illegal goods, controlled drugs, hazardous materials or products whose sale requires permissions the service cannot support. Do not upload private information about other people, misleading claims or abusive content.
You retain ownership of your content. You give us permission to store, display, resize and process it as needed to operate and promote your listing through the directory, including search-engine previews. You are responsible for reviewing AI suggestions before publishing and keeping your listing accurate.
A little haggle, with limits
Virtual Haggle uses an AI assistant within the seller’s price limits. Its suggestions are automated and may be mistaken. A conversation or an agreed price does not reserve an item, take a payment or complete a sale through SellitLocal. Prices and availability must still be confirmed with the seller before any separate purchase. Ask us for help if an AI response seems incorrect or inappropriate.
Buying, selling and business checks
Sellers are responsible for their goods and their obligations to buyers. SellitLocal is not the seller of items listed by users. Any separate sale is between the buyer and seller; inspect the item and agree collection and payment arrangements carefully. We do not offer buyer protection for payments made outside the service.
A business profile or Companies House match does not guarantee quality, ownership, insurance, solvency or safety. Verified Trade is not currently available: the full live bank-verification process is not active. Wanted requests can be recorded, but trade SMS delivery and automatic courier fulfilment are not operating services at this launch.
Business sellers must comply with applicable consumer law, including accurate pre-contract information and any applicable cancellation, return and refund rights. Rights differ between private and business sellers and by the transaction. These terms do not remove your statutory rights.
Keeping the marketplace usable
Do not impersonate others, attempt unauthorised access, scrape private information, evade restrictions or manipulate prices, reviews or verification. We may correct an AI grade, remove a listing, restrict access or suspend an account to address misuse, misleading information, security concerns or legal requirements. Email us with the relevant reference if you want a decision reviewed.
We work to keep the service available, but features can be interrupted or withdrawn for maintenance or to address problems. We do not guarantee an item’s availability, an AI valuation or the outcome of a sale. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Help, changes and disputes
For complaints, account closure or content-removal requests, email hello@sellitlocal.co.uk. Include enough information to locate the issue; never send passwords or verification codes. We may retain records needed for legal obligations or unresolved disputes as described in the privacy notice.
Updated terms will be dated on this page. Material changes to an existing account’s terms will be brought to your attention before they apply. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; consumers retain any mandatory rights to bring proceedings in the courts of their home jurisdiction.
